I started making sculptures when I retired in 2008. I have always loved gardening and making sculptures for my garden seemed a natural step. I enjoy working with glass to reflect and also contrast with the surrounding foliage. I particularly relish the challenge of working with recycled materials. Following a stone carving demonstration offered as part of an exhibition of Garden Sculptures in my garden in 2014 I started a monthly stone carving workshop, led by Glenn Morris. My interest in stone carving is reflected in my sculptures, where I use metal, stone or wood to frame the glass
