Jan Bruce

Jan Bruce is an award-winning contemporary stone sculptor based in the west highlands of Herefordshire.

Jan, who was awarded 1st prize in Herefordshire’s annual H.Art competition in 2024, is also featured in series 3 episode 11 of BBC 'Make It At Market', an arts and crafts show hosted by the Repair Shop's Dominic Chinea.

"Stonecarving is in my blood. Having started stonecarving aged 14, I went on to study sculpture at degree level, followed by a life of diverse twists and turns, eventually leading me back to where I belong, hammer and chisel in hand. Sculpting feels as natural as breathing to me, and is the best way I can converse with the world."

This sculpture, ‘One’ is a semi-abstract piece depicting two embracing figures, with faces almost touching.
